The founding legend
The Schmusechor is a tingling mixture of pop music, performance, haute couture and passion. Legend has it that it was founded around nine years ago in a shared bedroom in Vienna and has since become an integral part of the music scene. Under the artistic direction of Verena Giesinger –, exceptional conductor, heartbeat, beat and baton of the Schmusechor –, a variety of fulfilment is presented that is second to none.
The repertoire
The devoted, mid-sized, 50-strong troupe masters the emotional spectrum just as well as danceable hits such as »I Want It That Way« by the Backstreet Boys. Anyone who has experienced the Schmusechor live knows that no eye remains dry and no body remains motionless. Other sophisticated arrangements range from David Bowie and Aretha Franklin to James Blake and Billie Eilish. An edgy potpourri that stimulates and excites all emotional channels and does not stop at genre boundaries. Collaborations of various kinds repeatedly lead into worlds such as theatre, visual arts, dance and film.
For everyone!
The Schmusechor also takes a clear stance against sexism and racism and that goes without saying, as do extravagant outfits, stage performances and lipstick – for everyone!
